Overview

The Bright Futures virtual reality avatar program is a nutrition and physical education curriculum intervention research project sponsored by the US Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The goal is to examine the acceptability of an evidence-based, contextually tailored, virtual avatar coaching approach for nutrition education among low-income adult-child dyads. The research is part of the HRSA Preventing Childhood Obesity Challenges-Using Technology to Prevent Childhood Obesity in Low-Income Families and Communities.

Scope of CCI Lab Work:

The CCI Lab will help host the project’s “Unity Application” (WebGL) on Google Cloud Platform. The application will be hosted on a Compute Engine VM, running NGINX as its web server with a SSL certificate installed. Data collected from the application will be stored on the VM, and then transferred to another location for the research project to analyze.
